Dance Dubai Dance - Fri 22 March 2013

Jay Kumar is honoured to be requested to be the Choreographer for this high profile event in Dubai which aims to break the World Record of numbers of people doing a Bollywood Dance.

Held at Northolt Leisure Centre, by Northolt Tube Station - Eastcote Lane North, Northolt, Middx, UB5 4AB
10 week course from January 2013  - Cost is £50 if paying for full 10 weeks or £6 per session otherwise.

Saturday 12th May 2012 - World Record Attempt for Bollywood Dancing - at Victoria Embankment Gardens, Central London

Jay Kumar was the Choreographer for the event to break the World Record of most number of people doing Bollywood dancing - his Jai Ho dance routne was filmed and put up on youtube for people across the world to learn to prepare for the event - there were multiple locations across the world doing the same dance simultaneously, including Malaysia, USA, Australia and other areas across UK. Approx 1000 people particiapted in the main event at central london where Jay Kumar taught the routine to the large crowd and then lead the dance attempt accompanied by many of his DanceAsia team members and the event organisers. Jay then entertained the large crowd with his fun interactive session which had the whole area rocking with DJ Dhruv from Kash Events taking over afterwards to play some top tunes for everyone to dance along to. A fabulous afternoon out was had by all especially as the sun shone throughout.  There is some verifiaction needed of numbers taking across all the different locations before we are able to know if we have broken the World Record. The event was called BollyGOOD and was also arranged to raise money for the worthy charity - Macmillan Cancer Support. Over £6500 was raised on the day but more doanations were still coming after as well so the final total will hopefully be over £7000 ! Watch out for another attempt next year !

 

Friday 30th March 2012 - Charity Dinner & Dance with Jay Kumar - at RAW Spice, West Hendon

Jay Kumar and Nisha Patel organised and hosted this FUN-draising Charity night in aid of Gandhighar School for hearing-impaired children in Kachholi, India. A sell-out crowd were treated to some fabulous dance entertainment by Jay Kumar's DanceAsia plus some fun interactive dance sessions, as well as a fully-served 3 course meal courtesy of RAW Spice ! Guests danced away the night to the great sounds of DJs from Kash Events. The event was supported by Sewa UK and Barclays Bank. Thanks go to all those that came along and supported this event and helped us raise £2000 for Gandhighar School.

After years of teaching a fun Bhangra Dance routine to the popular punjabi song DAS JA by DJ Sanj to hundreds of people at events across the world, Jay Kumar has re-recorded the song with DJ Sanj and added his instructions to it - THE BHANGRA ZMBA SLIDE is the name given to Jay Kumar's version and you can see the Official Music Video and also the Promo Video of the song on Youtube by seaching for Bhangra zmba Slide.

The video shows many people doing the dance at places Jay has been to, including  Mombasa, Rome, Hackney, Central London and also at some of Jay's dance classes in West London and at his Bollywood Night at Venue 5. Can you spot people you know in the video ?
